About Troy Hangland

Troy Hangland is a multidisciplinary artist who has had a lifelong passion for art, design, and the engaging possibilities of games. Growing up in a small town in rural Connecticut, Troy was a kid who spent his days drawing and sketching, captivated by the prospect of creating worlds and stories visually. His early interest in art and appreciation of the entertainment value of games formed the foundation of his professional life in the creative industry.

In high school, Troy was introduced to digital media and design, opening doors to combine his art interests with computer technology. This led to a desire to continue his education in game design with an associate's degree in 2024. He is now expanding his expertise as a B.A. candidate for Digital Media and Design at UConn, pursuing areas such as concept art, illustration, graphic design, 3D modeling, animation, texturing, lighting, web development and design, and game development.

Troy's work attests to his dedication to bringing together creativity and technical expertise to bring concepts to life. From character design, to constructing detailed worlds, to developing game mechanics, his goal is to create experiences that inspire and captivate. Troy still expresses the same sense of wonder and excitement that he was driven by as a kid through his games and artwork.

Outside of work, you’ll find Troy skiing, playing games, drawing, watching movies, and hanging out with friends.
