About Troy Hangland

Troy Hangland is a multidisciplinary creative with a lifelong passion for art, design, and the immersive power of games. Growing up in a small rural area in Connecticut, Troy spent his childhood drawing and illustrating, captivated by the idea of creating worlds and telling stories through visuals. His early love for art and fascination with the entertaining nature of games set the foundation for his creative journey.

In high school, Troy discovered digital media and design, which opened up new possibilities for combining his artistic talents with technology. This passion led him to pursue formal education in game design, earning an associate’s degree in 2024. He is now expanding his expertise as a B.A. candidate in Digital Media and Design at UConn, exploring disciplines such as concept art, illustration, graphic design, 3D modeling, animation, texturing, lighting, and game development.

Troy’s work reflects his dedication to blending creativity and technical skill to bring ideas to life. Whether he’s designing characters, crafting detailed environments, or developing gameplay mechanics, his goal is to create experiences that captivate and inspire. Through his art and games, Troy continues to share the same wonder and excitement that fueled his journey from childhood.

Outside of work, you’ll find Troy skiing, playing games, drawing, watching movies, and hanging out with friends.
